The Balkans targets growing Indian outbound market

The Balkans is the latest European region to target the growing Indian outbound market.

Bulgaria, Serbia and Macedonia, each with their own unique attractions, have mounted a campaign in India to create greater awareness among the Indian agents and travelers.

Bayko Baykov, general manager, and Stefan Kirov, senior manager, of Bohemia DMC, said in Delhi on August 16 that the region has several general and specific interest attractions with well-designed tours.

Kirov emphasised that the cost factor was very important, as the travel expenses, as well as shopping and wines, were much cheaper in Bulgaria and other Balkan destinations than in most parts of Europe. This should be a great incentive for Indian travelers.

Spa, skiing, open air museums, casinos and other attractions, as well as the perfume industry and wines, are much cheaper in the Balkans countries.

Winter tourism in Bulgaria has also good prospects.
