Ferraro’s Restaurant & Bar Reopens at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

In early 2024, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, a prestigious five-star and five-diamond luxury hotel in Hawaii, will introduce an impressive transformation of its flagship oceanfront dining venue, Ferraro’s Restaurant & Bar. The renowned restaurant, known for its exceptional culinary legacy and being one of Maui’s top dining spots for nearly 30 years, will undergo a comprehensive redesign led by the esteemed Venice, CA-based boutique agency, Studio Collective. Additionally, Chef de Cuisine Russell Rummer will bring innovative changes to the menu, further enhancing the dining experience.

Ferraro’s, which has recently undergone a transformation, sits gracefully on the edge of Wailea Beach in Maui. It effortlessly captures the essence of the island and the joyful essence of la dolce vita. By incorporating modern and elegant design elements, Ferraro’s provides an atmosphere that perfectly complements the captivating beauty of Maui’s landscape. Ferraro’s welcomes you with a transformed ambiance that perfectly embodies the spirit of Maui. The newly designed oceanfront restaurant, boasting 192 seats, draws inspiration from the local environment and surrounding landscape, seamlessly blending with the lush grounds and breathtaking panoramic views. As you arrive, vibrant and tropical landscaping greets you, creating an immersive experience, complemented by an array of potted plants that add to the delightful al fresco atmosphere.

Upon entering, customers are met with a spacious bar that wraps around three sides. The bar has been modernized with a marble top, tiled face, and a custom back display featuring a bronze mirror that reflects the sunset and ocean. Plush sofas upholstered in a deep navy fabric are positioned along the southern edge of the area, providing an ideal spot for enjoying a pre-dinner spritz or post-dinner amaro. The restaurant offers a variety of dining arrangements on both the upper and lower decks, strategically positioned to maximize the unobstructed views of the sunset and the Maui stars throughout the night. Adding to the aesthetic appeal, handcrafted ivory and indigo ceramic tiles, inspired by the colors and textures of Maui, adorn tabletop insets as eye-catching decorative accents. To bring everything together, a custom teak trellis harmoniously connects the upper dining patio, bar, and piazza areas.

Adam Goldstein, Partner and Design Director of Studio Collective, explains that the goal with the new design and layout was to create a more open space that connects seamlessly with the beautiful surroundings and the resort. The vision for Ferraro’s evolution involves blending contemporary sophistication with a warm, residential charm that embodies the spirit of the island. By utilizing locally sourced materials, incorporating natural elements, and paying careful attention to every detail, Ferraro’s transforms into more than just a restaurant—it becomes a vibrant dining destination on the island.
