In 2024, Armenia will number the UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism.
The announcement was made at the meeting held this year in La Rioja, Spain, where comfortable kindness and a dedication to the nature of the gathering have established an encouraging law. The Republic of Armenia’s Tourism Committee has then stepped forward to assume this duty.
Experts from the expanding wine hospitality industry have a rare opportunity to identify new trends and growth opportunities at the Conference. A wide range of international participants will be brought together, including representatives from public organizations, destination management organizations ( DMOs ), international and intergovernmental bodies, renowned wine experts, and a number of other important stakeholders. The occasion acts as a creative hub where people can work together and come up with workable options, making it an essential tool for the world’s wine tourism sector.
Armenia is a prime location for the 2024 conference due to its fusion of long-standing winemaking customs, regional grape varieties, various terroir, and strong cultural ties to wine.
The country is eager to promote international partnerships in the wine tourism industry, demonstrate its famous wine heritage, and share its passion and expertise. Attendees of this event will have the rare chance to explore the Areni-1 cave, the oldest winery in the world that dates back 6,100 years. This is just one of many interesting things that are in store for them.
The event, which is intended to draw experts and wine enthusiasts from around the world, promises to be a turning point for the sector. According to Sisian Boghossian, mind of the Armenian Tourism Committee,” we eagerly anticipate welcoming everyone to Armenia, where our scenery resonate with the tales of our vines, and the soul of kindness flows as freely as our finest wines.”
